Candidate at Swiss in Art

Swiss in Art, the Swiss event addressed to the contemporary international art and follows the natural tendency of Lugano towards arts.
Swiss in Art will create an exhibition unique of its kind: „Tourism in Art: a travel into art and the art to travel through artworks of artists from the world”. Tourism in Art is an innovative project aimed at tourism promotion through art and artistic handicrafts. Art is a useful resource to grow and to promote a territory not only from a cultural point of view, but also from a social, economic and therefore tourism perspective. The event has two goals: to be an important showcase to promote the tourist and cultural heritage of a destination through a new channel, and to be an international stage for contemporary, emerging artists and artisans. The show wants to reveal that figurative arts, sculpture, artistic handicrafts can be used to promote the tourism image of a country, conveying also the love and attention for art and for its new protagonists.

The Exhibition will be an excellent platform both for the authorities responsible for tourism promotion and for the artists, who get together to create a new type of event, with a new conception of “travel into art”, to exhibit, to bargain and to promote creativity, to show the identity and the beauties of a territory.

The Exhibition will take place in a dedicated area within the Swiss International Holiday Exhibition of Lugano and will propose a series of exhibition spaces for the artworks of different artists. The exhibition space will serve both as “gallery” and as “tourism promotion pole” to show the public the beauties and richness of the destination. A travel into art therefore, but also the art to travel, to discover new cultures, new people and destinations.
