Tourism: traditionally the Helvetic people love travelling all year
long. Holidays in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter represent the rule
and not the exception. Students have different school calendars depending
on where they live. Also, the spoken languages are Italian, German, French
and English, thus permitting an excellent adaptability wherever in the
world.
Each canton has an independent decisional power regarding the holiday
periods to be inserted in the calendars. This means that Swiss families
with scholar-age-children can go on holidays over the year round and
generally during those periods considered off-season by the other countries.
The Swiss tourist market is an ideal market, because of its prosperity and stability. Swiss people have a natural bent for travelling and they look for high-quality tourism.
The Swiss International Holiday Exhibition represents the easiest and
most efficient way for tourist local and international tourist operators
to reach the helvetic market.
