eTour Camp Lugano
The Barcamp on the new tourist technologies. A BarCamp is a non-conference. Opposite to the traditional approach according to which, a speaker presents to a meeting some previously defined subjects, the BarCamp starts from people's desire to share and learn, in an open, free and collaborative environment, where everyone can submit a subject and can talk about it with the others. The aim is to promote the free thought, the curiosity and the diffusion of the treated subjects.
WHY A BARCAMP ON TOURISM
The new technologies in tourism are assuming greater importance on a global level, particularly the eTourism, the subject which studies the interaction between technology and tourism, is becoming more and more strategic for many firms of the branch. For the new and dynamic firms that are entering the web-world, the competitive advantage is given by the possibility to exploit the new and interesting opportunities given by the concrete reality of Web 2.0, where the users take active part to the creation of the contents. The strategy, through which these experiences are born and grow, moves upwards; the innovations of the last years have been born on the base of the "users' pushes", greed to share their photos, their videos and, in the final analysis, their experiences. The Barcampers are, as a matter of fact, the most innovative population of this complex field; the eTourCamp will be a privileged environment to understand the developing trend and innovations in the tourist new technologies world.

The aegis of Master Technology Enhanced Communication for Cultural Heritage and Master International Tourism, Dicastero Giovani ed Eventi and Lugano Turismo are witnesses of the great interest that also the different Boards show towards eTourCamp, the first BarCamp of Ticino.
